Branding materials for small businesses do not need to be expensive, but they do need to be printed in a sensible order. Many new shop owners spend their first budget on a big banner or T-shirts and then realise they have no receipts, no business card and no price list when a customer asks.
This checklist ranks what to print first, what to print next and what can wait. Prices change, so each step links to the live product page instead of quoting figures. If you are still working out your logo, colours and fonts, read our brand identity checklist first.

Settle your brand basics before printing anything
Printing is hard to undo. Before you print any branding materials for small businesses, decide four things and write them down:
- Your business name exactly as it should appear, including spelling and capital letters
- Your logo in a clean, high-quality file
- Two or three brand colours and one or two fonts
- Your phone and WhatsApp number, address or area, and social media handle
If your business name is not registered yet, consider registering it with the Corporate Affairs Commission before you print it on everything, because a name change later means reprinting. Use the same details everywhere. A customer who sees the same logo, colours and number on your sign, card and receipt trusts you faster. Our brand identity checklist walks through each decision.
The print-first checklist for branding materials for small businesses

| 3 | Price list | Answers the first question every customer asks |
| 4 | Receipts and invoice books | Makes you look professional and keeps records |
| 5 | Product labels and stickers | Makes your products look finished and traceable |
| 6 | Packaging bags | Turns every sale into a walking advert |

| 8 | Branded T-shirts, mugs and jotters | Builds team identity and gifts once you have steady sales |
1. Shop sign or banner
A clear sign tells passers-by what you sell and where to find you. Use your logo, the main product in large letters and your phone number. Flex banners are the most common budget option for shops, events and promotions, and the price depends on the size and on whether you need us to design it. See our Flex Banner Printing and the guide on designing banners to exact dimensions.
2. Business cards
Cards are small, but they are what people keep. Our cards are double-sided and laminated front and back, and you choose the card weight and the quantity on the product page. See the Business Cards and our business card design tips.
3. A simple price list
A one-page price list saves you from answering the same question all day. Print it on A4, and place it near the counter, on the wall or at your stall. Our Paper Printing Service prints it by the sheet, and our Lamination Service protects it so it survives handling. Add “prices may change” and the date.
4. Receipts and invoice books
A branded receipt shows customers that you are a real business, and it protects you in disputes. Our receipt booklets come in normal and carbonised paper, so you can keep a copy of every sale. Not sure what to use? Read the difference between an invoice and a receipt and our receipt book printing cost guide.
5. Product labels and stickers
If you sell packed goods, labels are what turns a plain container into a product. Our vinyl die-cut stickers come in several sizes and quantities, with or without design. Before you design, read product label printing in Nigeria and designing readable product labels.
6. Packaging bags
Printed nylon bags carry your name into every home and office. You choose the bag type, the number of colours and the quantity. See our full range of nylon bags and the shopping bags guide.
7. Flyers
A flyer is best when you have something specific to announce: an opening, a discount, a new service or an event. Read our guide to business flyer design in Nigeria before you print, and printing cost in Nigeria for costs.
8. Branded T-shirts, mugs and jotters
These are worth adding after you have steady customers. A T-shirt with your logo makes staff easy to spot and customers remember you. We offer custom T-shirts, custom mugs and custom jotters for staff and gifts.

Common mistakes
- Printing before you have a final logo and phone number.
- Using different colours and fonts on each item.
- Choosing the cheapest printer without checking size, paper and finish.
- Ordering a huge quantity of an item you may redesign soon.
- Forgetting to put WhatsApp and your location on everything.
What should I print first for my small business?
Print a sign or banner so customers can find you, business cards, a price list and receipts. Add labels, bags and flyers as sales grow.
How much do branding materials for small businesses cost?
It depends on what you print and in what quantity. A first set of a banner, business cards, a receipt booklet and stickers is the usual starting point; open each product page in our Print Shop to see the current price, or send us your list for one combined quote.
Do I need a logo before I print?
Yes. A clean logo file and fixed brand colours prevent costly reprints.
Is it better to design my own materials or pay a designer?
If you have a clean file, printing only is cheaper. If not, a design-inclusive price usually costs less than hiring a designer separately.
Can you design and print everything for me?
Yes. We can design your logo and stationery and print the items listed here.
